TAMPA, Fla. – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Tampa Microwave(TM), a veteran owned small business specializing in satellite communication systems, microwave modules, satellite link simulators and carrier monitoring equipment announced the completion of verification testing of a significant battery life improvement feature that manages the power required for its Manpack family of X, Ku and Ka band ultra portable satellite terminals.

A Tampa Microwave terminal using iDirect’s V2.3 modem software disables its transmitter until commanded by the iDirect e850MP modem to send a data packet. When packet transmission is complete, the Keyline returns the amplifier to standby mode to await the next transmission. Using the Keyline extends the terminal’s battery life by a factor of at least 2x up to a maximum of 3x depending on the transmitter duty cycle.
