iDirect’s Hub Owners Group Update

iDirect Hub Owners Group LinkedIniDirect’s Hub Owners Group was formed in 2005 as a forum for iDirect hub owners to share information and learn how to get the most out of their iDirect experience. It was also a way for members to share the information with iDirect and through that, we have been able to improve our technologies and processes.

What started off as a small, easily manageable group has now grown to over 150 members. While the Hub Owners Group Board is excited about the growth and the member involvement, it has been a challenge to maintain and establish regular communication. With that in mind, the Board has asked iDirect to take an active ownership role with the iDirect Hub Owners Group.

iDirect is now a full partner and the group will remain as the iDirect Hub Owners Group via LinkedIn.

Tampa Microwave X Band ManPack Satellite Terminal Offers Battery Saving Feature

From newsblaze.com

TAMPA, Fla. – (BUSINESS WIRE) – Tampa Microwave(TM), a veteran owned small business specializing in satellite communication systems, microwave modules, satellite link simulators and carrier monitoring equipment announced the completion of verification testing of a significant battery life improvement feature that manages the power required for its Manpack family of X, Ku and Ka band ultra portable satellite terminals.

In cooperation with iDirect Government Systems, Tampa Microwave has designed its terminals to implement a Transmitter Keyline feature. A Tampa Microwave terminal using iDirect’s V2.3 modem software disables its transmitter until commanded by the iDirect e850MP modem to send a data packet. When packet transmission is complete, the Keyline returns the amplifier to standby mode to await the next transmission. Using the Keyline extends the terminal’s battery life by a factor of at least 2x up to a maximum of 3x depending on the transmitter duty cycle.
